Genie is the anglicized spelling of the word Jinn. Djinn is the romanized spelling of Jinn. Jinni is also used as an alternate spelling to Jinn. As time passes words and definitions change, things get lost or altered in translation. A genie is considered to be entertaining and marketable in the modern era. While Jinns were considered mischievous and malicious mythological beings made from smokeless fire according to religious texts of the late 1200s. Depictions through old text help me reinstate the true meaning of the original word.
